- Roger was captain of Albemarle Co., VA militia in 1776 and took the oaths as lieutenant colonel of militia of Fluvanna Co., VA on 7 Nov 1777 and as colonel 6 Dec 1783. On 6 Nov 1777 he qualified as a justice of the Fluvanna County court and on 4 Dec 1777 as a vestryman of Fluvanna Parish. On 4 Nov 1779 he qualified as sheriff of Fluvanna County.
