Notes |
- William entered the College of William and Mary in 1804. He represented King and Quenn County in the House of Delegates, 1812-15; served in the U.S. House of Representatives, 1815-17; and then settled in Richmond where he was elected a councillor of state. After several years he settled at "Spring Garden," Hanover County, and was again elected to the House of Delegates, 1831-34, and the U.S. Senate, 1837-41. He was the grandson of founding father Patrick Henry.
