    • Maj. Nathaniel Claiborne Wilson was a student at the Univ. of Virginia in 1859 and at Virginia Military Institute for 13 months (Class of 1861). He enlisted as captain in Company B, 28th Virginia Infantry, C.S.A., 15 May 1861, and was promoted to major on 1 May 1862. He was killed at Gettysburg in the assault with Pickett's Division. The Allen Family Cemetery is located on a bluff overlooking Route 11 and Mill Creek, about 3 or 4 miles south of Buchanan. It can not be seen from the road.
