  • Notes 
    • Maj.Gen. William Wirt Allen served as a 1st lieutenant and was commissioned major of the 1st Alabama Cavalry, C.S.A., on 18 Mar 1862. He was promoted to colonel that same year and in Mar 1865 was commissioned major general, serving until surrendering his troops at Salisbury, NC, 3 May 1865.
