- Joseph and Hannah had 15 children. In 1695 they emigrated from England to New Castle, DE, to take possession of a plantation in Birmingham, Chester, PA which was given to them by Hannah's uncle. Once there they dug a cave where they lived for 4-5 years and gave birth to 2 children before building a house. When Joseph died he had 45 living grandchildren. When Hannah died she was survived by 12 children and 62 grandchildren; 133 living descendants in all.
