    Notes
    • Her marriage was celebrated a short time before May 16th, 1575, the day when her father, a farmer living in Montech, signed the acknowledgement of a dowry for her. On that same day her father made his will, and he died the day after. In her dowry from her father, she received two dresses, a bed, duvet, cushion and sheets ... as well as the sum of one hundred livres tournois, but her father was not able to pay this sum because of "wars". Instead of the silver money he gave six 'razes' three 'coups' and half of land located in the jurisdiction of Montech. Mathieu Latrobe was said to be happy about the land located in the soil called Garonne Morte.

  • Notes
    • He signed a will on 8 April 1642 in Bourret.194 He requested "to be buried in the cemetery and tomb of his late predecessors", which apparently means that he wanted to die as a Catholic. He named his nephew, Jean Latrobe, Mathieu's son, as "his special and general heir". Pierre Latrobe is the third known son of Mathieu Latrobe by his second wife, Géraude Calsier.

We have no precise information about his date of birth which should have taken place around 1570 in St Etienne-de-Tescou, a village near Montauban where his parents lived at that time. About him we only know that he became a miller, like his father and his fore bearers of three generations. From #167, we learn that in 1610 he bought a piece of land along the brook named Tessone close to its confluence with the Garonne River at Bourret, 10 miles west from St Etienne-de-Tescou, where he had settled sometime beforehand. And from his will expressed in 1642 (#298), he had also bought a water mill there which he decided to give to his nephew as general heir, Jean Latrobe, son of his older brother, Mathieu, which means that he and his wife, Florette Blanc, had no children when he died.
