• Notes

  Col. Robert Breckinridge was a Captain of Augusta Co. Militia in service against the French and Indians in 1756 and 1758. He was one of the original incorporators of the town of Staunton, Virginia. He transferred his residence to Botetourt Co., where he acted as Justice of the Peace and Colonel of the Militia. His will was proved 7 Nov. 1773 in Botetourt Co., Virginia, naming his wife, Lettice, and children, William, John, Alexander, Robert, James, Preston and Elizabeth.
