Notes |
- The only piece of information about this Anne Latrobe relates to the sharing of her belongings after her death in 1626 (see #226). We also learn that her granddaughter, Anthoinette Vignoles, was then already married, therefore we estimate her age between 75 and 80 in 1626.
Now the question is: who could be Anne Latrobe's father? Since she owned pieces of land located at Monbéqui and Bessens (contiguous village), we have to investigate among the Latrobes of Monbéqui.
The sons of Arnauld Latrobe (born 1448) and those of Pierre Latrobe (born 1450) appear to be too old. But the Pierre's grandsons could provide a candidate, particularly Jehan Latrobe who left Monbéqui, where he owned some pieces of land from inheritance, and settled as shoe-maker in Montech, the place where Anne used to live.
Regarding the sons of Anthoine Latrobe Senior, there are three possibilities:
- Anthoine (Pichot), whom we already know three sons and two daughters: if he had another daughter (or granddaughter) named Anne Latrobe, it would have been mentioned at least in one of the numerous pieces of information related to this branch;
- Anthoine (Myssole), who signed a will in 1552 (see #32) where two daughters (minor) and one son are named: if Anne Latrobe was his daughter, she would have been named there too;
- Anthoine (Thoniel), who appears as having been a very active farmer since he bought several pieces of land and who is named for the last time in #51 (1567) together with his widow, Glaude Comère, and his son, Jehan Latrobe, on the occasion of selling a piece of land: he could be also a possibility for Anne Latrobe's father although she was not named in #51, presumably because she was a girl and too young.
Faced with these various possibilities we have considered, without full certainty, that the most probable is Jehan Latrobe, shoe-maker in Montech.
