  • Notes
    • Orlando Brown's father, Hon. John Brown, had commenced the "Memoranda of the Preston Family" not long before his death in 1837. Orlando Brown availed himself of the assistance of Nathaniel Hart of Woodford Co., Ky. who greatly enlarged it, partly from his own personal acquaintance with the younger members of the family, and partly from information of the correctness of which he had no doubt. (Signed ) Orlando Brown, Frankfort, Ky. Dec 20 1842.
Orlando Brown was educated as a lawyer, and for some years edited the Kentucky Commonwealth.
