  Herbert Augustine Claiborne was a student at the College of William and Mary in 1806 and represented King William County, VA, in the House of Delegates, 1812-1815. He was 1st sergeant in Capt. Carter H. Braxton's company of cavalry attached to the 1st Virginia Regiment of Cavalry from 2-13 Sep 1814.
