    • Junius Brutus Browne enlisted 7 May 1861 as 2nd lieutenant in Company A, 5th Virginia Cavalry, was promoted to 1st lieutenant, 14 May 1862, and to captain, 15 Dec 1862. He was captured 30 May 1863 and exchanged in 3 Mar 1864. He was wounded and captured 8 Oct 1864, and held at Fort Delaware until 17 Jan 1865.
