    • Francis Marshall Boykin was a physician in Isle of Wight Co., VA, and a brigadier general in the state militia, He owned "The Rocks" on the James River which was occupied by a Confederate battery. The house on the property was destroyed in 1862 when the Merrimac was blown up.
